Donor

1995, video

Donor is an experimental narrative that uses the technology proposed by Mary Shelley in Frankenstein to posit fertilization as a new area of home economics. Donor can be seen as science fiction of the present. We think of already existing technologies, but give implications for non-technology in an attempt to their impact on the unconscious psyche, to the archetypal human rings determine. To portray this struggle, we manipulate the narrative conventions. The storytelling is the strategy in which essential moods and emotions can be transmitted from the performer to the viewer. This identification with the performer creates a "feel first - think later" response. The once experienced reaction can not be traced and must be incorporated into the playing field with other, so-called real events. Donor examines the new psychological terrain full quantification of the human body. With the invention of new medical technologies that provide solutions to human infertility, we are a few steps closer to the creation of human life by the vision in Shelly Dr. Frankenstein . Donor adopts the technology of Frankenstein, to call for the fertilization as a new area of domestic economy.
